A Tisket, A Tasket - Hank's In A Basket

Yesterday Hank, Mom, and I went to the Longaberger Basket Festival at Boyd's Bears in Gettysburg. Mom and I went two years ago (I skipped last year because I was too prego). I didn't see a basket that I had to have. However they do now have an outlet store at Boyd's that is open year round and they sell discontinued and seconds of Longaberger items. I did get a Longaberger cookie jar. After we left Boyd's we went to the outlet stores in Gettysburg. I had more luck there. I had some nice coupons for the Children Stores, like Carters. Hank got several new things for Fall. I actually have not bought him anything new for a good while, so it was fun to buy him some new stuff and they were having 50% sales and then I had a coupon for an additional 25% off. Before we left we ate at TGIF. Hank had cheese and mashed potatoes. I had their fried green beans - so good.

Hank did well with the trip, but he was getting irritated with all the sitting. He would get mad and fight when we tried to put him in the stroller, so part of the time we were carrying him. He is so used now to crawling all over the place, so when we got home I let him loose.

I was also excited to be able to use my new GPS yesterday. I ordered it Sunday and got it Thursday, just in time for the trip. It is so nice to have. I am really glad I ordered it. Can't wait to use it some more.

Yee Haw and You Won't BEElieve this.

Here are photos of another yard sale find - he really can't master riding the horse now, but when he is a little older I imagine him boucing his way down the hall.

Also, Hank got his first bee stings Saturday night. I took him out on the deck right before dark and we were sitting there when yellow jackets came out from the grill. One landed on his face and I freaked out - I was yelling and brushed it off his face and ran into the house. From what we could tell he looked to have one or two stings on his face and one on his leg, but the little welts on his face were gone very quickly and by this morning I could not see any mark on his leg either. Not every first is a good one, but he did well and I was very thankful he was okay.

Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

Hank likes to play with my egg basket at the bottom of the stairs. He takes the eggs out and puts them back in. He also pulls all the "straw" out and pulls it apart. He looks funny when he crawls across the floor carrying his eggs - I always tell him to put the eggs back, but make sure he does not put all his eggs in one basket!

Hair Today. Gone Tomorrow.

Hank got his first haircut tonight. I actually did not cry like I thought I would. He did very well as Brant held him. Our friend Tracey gave him the cut at her salon. Here are some before, during and after photos.

Into Everything!

Hank continues to get into EVERYTHING! Today as I was flushing the toilet I saw one of his paci's in there. He can get the lids open just a little bit and then he cries because he gets his fingers stuck. Anything that opens - he's getting into it. He took out my plug-in air freshener the other night. So now that is in a higher outlet, that he can't reach. We had already installed outlet covers, so now we need to look into cabinet locks and maybe toilet locks. This house is going to turn into Fort Dix. He really likes the vacuum cleaner. He laughs when Brant gets the small one out at night and when I have the big one out, he follows me down the hall. I feel like the pied piper! He loves to yell out and "talk." Yesterday we were shopping with my Mom and I was pushing Hank in the stroller looking for her. I didn't have to look long because everyone in the store could hear Hank coming.

I have broken down and realized that he needs a haircut. His bangs are getting into his eyes. Just another piece of babyhood waiting to disappear - another first here and gone. Probably this week we will get that done. I'll post before and after photos. I am sure I will be sweeping up every last bit of hair to save - I still have his umbilical cord too. Not sure what to do with that. Maybe if he gets married one day I'll give it to him as a reminder to not forget his Mother.

She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy

We went to a First Birthday Party on Sunday and the theme was John Deere - here is Hank "drivng" a Deere.

Behind Bars

Brant was not fishing this weekend so I went to a Yard Sale Saturday AM and got a very nice baby gate for the top of our stairs. I had planned on us going out this weekend to buy one - so that saved us a lot of money. I also got a very nice baby puzzle that I had recently been reading about - it had never been opened. I also got two toy cars for Hank. He loved his puzzle and his cars. He also didn't mind the baby gate. He thought it was funny when I was on the other side taking his photos. Hank did not take a nap in the afternoon, even though we laid with him and tried (he is not always a big nap taker). Later when he was eating supper I looked over and he was sound asleep in his high chair. That was a first! Just a second before he had been crunching away on his veggie puffs.
